Are you in the HUSKY program
and having trouble getting care because of the switch to a different system? Please help
us identify problems with this new system by filling out this 1-page HUSKY survey. Note:
You can switch at any time to a different plan in
which all or most of your providers are enrolled.
3/2008. CT Needs Social Services
Programs (2007). This data shows the importance of social
services programs for all needy residents of the state and for people who need help
in your community! It shows the number of people in each CT town who:
- receive HUSKY A health insurance;
- receive Medicaid or are on a Medicaid "spend-down";
- receive Temporary Family Assistance cash assistance;
- claimed the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit).
Section 8 Waiting List
(also known as Housing Choice Voucher) website is now up and running. You can use
this site to find out which Section 8 waiting lists in CT are currently open.
1/21/08. Have you used up your
energy assistance benefits for deliverable fuel? (Deliverable fuel is anything
that comes on a truck, e.g., oil, propane, etc.) You
may be able to get another delivery of fuel. Contact the Community
Action Agency handling your energy assistance. Only
households to 150% FPL, and up to 200% FPL if an elderly or disabled person is in the
household, can get this benefit.

- New resource for providers who assist persons who are
homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The Department of Housing and Urban
Development has created HUDHRE.info.
The site includes information on HUD's housing and homeless programs, grant applications,
Homeless Management Information System guidance, and more.
- 9/2007. Having trouble registering a child in school?
Your child is allowed by law to attend school in the town where you live, even if you do
not have legal custody, as long as the child lives with you. Read more on this school registration flyer.
