WE ARE
CABHN is a statewide network of over 3,000 organizations, including social service
providers, advocates, religious organizations and individuals concerned about issues
affecting people with low income. CABHN was formed in 1992 to support and promote advocacy
on welfare-related issues. Our members represent a diverse range of expertise, interests,
and experience and share a common goal of making welfare work for participants and
taxpayers. We encourage the sharing of information and strategies to help advocates
maximize their energy and resources.

outreach and workshops for both staff and clients of social service programs throughout
Connecticut.

- Educational
materials and technical support to low-income individuals to empower them to influence
local and state policy makers.
- A free
monthly newsletter, CABHN Fever, which provides up-to-date information for providers,
individuals, and grassroots organizations on welfare-related issues.

meetings held around the state featuring speakers; updates on legislation, policies and
programs; and more
